For Ladies: The guide to Merging into Pompeian Fashion

When visiting Pompeii do you have the fear of not knowing what to wear or buy?

As we have been blogging and giving travel guides about Pompeii we also need to show their fashion and style so you can have a insight with fashion from different destinations in the world.

Women in Pompeii wear the same clothing every time so you won't need to spend lots on buying different styles. No matter wealthy or  middle class they still wore the a similar style of apparel. 

For all ladies reading this, what do you need to buy to blend in?

The Pompeian fashion is simple, yet detailed in the cuts and fit. Luckily since of their simplistic lifestyle and taste.

Don't fear, you won't need to buy and access  many troublesome small and fiddly cloths even including basic shirts, pants or even a jumper.

Locals would wear a fitted long and pleated dress all year round, which was called a Stola. Almost all Stolas look similar, so there's no problem if you get it at a cheap price point up to the more higher end of the scale. An large array of creative colors are available to be purchased and will make you stand out among the crowd as almost all women in Pompeii would be wearing a Stola outside.To complete your look off, the Stola is best paired with gold bracelets, necklaces and rings.

But at home, it is know that we all like to relax so instead of wearing a stola, many choose to wear something called a Tunic. So what is a tunic? It is still a easy concept of two pieces of clothing sewn together and is fastened on the body by a thin belt. Tunics were mostly made out of wool and were un-dyed so it would be warm, but still breathable. 

Like the stola, it would be wore up  to their ankles and sometimes they would add a piece of clothing called a Himation. Which was a colorful piece of cloth wrapped over the body to add a touch of colour variation to the tunic, which could be sometimes a bit bland. 

           

These clothes can be found anywhere for quick easy access, so don't worry.
