Spare time, Come and see some shows
Having spare times in your hand is always a good thing, but if you have several hours ever thought of Pompeian entertainment?
Here we are today at Two Places At Once to explore two of the most popular entertainments out there now! Locals know all about parties, musical production, dancing, comedy acts and many more but have you ever considered the ones unique to Pompeii? Here they are and we're sure you will enjoy.
What on earth happens in the Amphitheater?
 |
| Amphitheater oval |
The Amphitheater is a big, oval open-air theater. Would you believe that the Amphitheater can fit everyone in Pompeii and even their visitors? Well it can! The Amphitheater can fit 20,000 people and more! In the Amphitheater, people see shows with excitement and screaming crowds.
What gets them excited you say?
 |
| Gladiators fighting |
Gladiators and wild animals excite them. Gladiators fight each other until one person falls to the ground and has the signal from the spectators and commentators to kill or to stay alive. When there is an animal that gets released there would be prisoners in the middle of the Amphitheater just waiting for the lions/tigers to eat or attack them. This is the most popular way of creating entertainment for many tourist and locals. But if fighting and killing isn't your thing then the next entertainment may touch your liking...
Um... Horse Racers out there? Chariot Races is for you!
What exactly is a Chariot Race?
 |
| Maximus Circus |
A charriot race is an extremely entertaining sport for all involving horses and people. It works by a person standing on a chariot which is made of wood and is to be dragged by the horse by the fastest. Normally being held at the famous Maximus Circus in Pompeii.
 |
| Chariot race |
If you want to know what person to go for their is four individuals racing with them teamed by colours red, blue white and green. As a tourist we sometimes don't know what team to support but for your information blue and greens were the individuals which succeeded the most on average and was the most popular
. They would make a total of seven laps around the Maximus circus course.
Hopefully one of these unique entertainments has interest you and will make your trip to Pompeii extreamly special and unforgettable.
Cheers, Two Places At Once Crew x
